The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (School and Mass Education Department) Odisha has invited applications for selection of students for scholarships by Unacademy for admissions into IIT-JEE, NEET-UG and NDA (Defense Exams).

As per the official notification, applications are invited from poor and meritorious students of Class 11 in government and non-government aided higher secondary schools affiliated to the Council of Higher Education (CHSE).

The selected students will get scholarships for free coaching by Unacademy for admissions into IIT-JEE, NEET-UG and NDA (Defense Exams).

Earlier, the State government’s School and Mass Education department had signed a memorandum of understanding with Unacademy to conduct aptitude tests through which qualifying students will be eligible to receive scholarships to study on Unacademy platform.

As per official sources, the scholarship will be provided to 1000 students covering 30 districts during 2021-22. The break-up of scholarship- IIT-JEE- 300, NEET-UG (300) and NDA (400).

Important Dates:

Start of registration: December 15, 2021

Closing of registrations: January 12, 2021

Test date: January 15, 2022

Process of selection:

There will be one aptitude test for each scholarship

-50 per cent weightage will be given to marks secured in HSC exam.

-50 per cent weightage will be given to marks secured in the aptitude test.

-There will be three aptitude tests. The students can select to appear in any one of their choice.

-The students will appear online aptitude test with electronic devices available with them.

-The duration of the test will be 1 hour

General Criteria

-The students will register to appear the test online using the (https://unacademy.com/scholarship/odisha-scholarship-test).

The students qualified in the Aptitude test have to submit Income Certificate issued by Tahsildar for final selection for getting the Scholarship

- The selection will be made covering students of different social categories- SC, ST and General. - The students will be considered against the district from which they passed out HSC Examination irrespective of the HSS where they are studying now.

Publication of Select List

- The Unacademy will shortlist 3000 students proportionately from 30 districts considering the criteria mentioned above in order of district wise merit.

- 1000 students will be awarded scholarship after necessary scrutiny of documents covering 30 districts.

-In case any selected student does not join the course, the vacancy will be filled from the waiting list of the concerned district to which the student belongs.
