The dream of becoming an IAS officer is worth every struggle, obstacle, and hardship. It is a life-changing opportunity and is considered one of the most prestigious jobs in the country.

Every year thousands of aspirants dream to become IAS, IPS, IRS, or IFS officers. However, the dream of only a handful gets fulfilled. Many aspirants even give up their high-paying lucrative jobs to give wings to their IAS dreams.

One such IAS officer is Vinayak Mahamuni who gave up his high-paying job in a US company to fulfill his IAS dream. However, the preparation journey wasn’t a piece of cake for him. He had to fail four times and face rejections to finally become an IAS officer in his 5th attempt.

Hailing from Maharashtra, Vinayak used to work at the renowned American multinational tech giant IBM. After completing his B. Tech in Petrochemical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, he secured a well-paying job in IBM, a report in News18 said.

However, after working for three years in the company, he set off for his UPSC journey. Although a brilliant mind, he couldn’t crack the Prelims exam in his first three attempts. The repeated setbacks almost made him give up on his dream, but his family and friends stood by him.

With constant support from his family, he appeared for the fourth time and successfully cleared both the Prelims and Mains. However, as bad luck would have it, he failed to crack the interview round. Instead of being dejected, he was optimistic and confident that he could clear the interview round in his next attempt.

So, he made his fifth attempt and finally cleared all the rounds to become an IAS officer with an impressive AIR-95. His success mantra is that if your focus is fixed then it is not impossible to be successful.
