Cracking India’s toughest exam, the Civil Services Exam is no joke. However, it is the people who do not give up and continue to work hard consistently to fulfill their dream are the ones who reach new heights in life.

A glaring example of sheer determination is IAS Uma Harathi N, whose success story is filled with hard work, consistency, patience, and perseverance. Despite failing the UPSC exam four times, she never gave up. She continued with her struggle and her hard work finally paid off in the 5th attempt.

Today, let’s take a look at the sacrifices and efforts made by IAS Uma to clear the UPSC exam. Hailing from Nalgonda district of Telangana, Harathi is an engineering graduate from IIT Hyderabad, a DNA India report revealed.

Despite being an IIT student, it was her dream to become an IAS officer and serve society. After her graduation, she soon started her preparation for the UPSC. However, Uma appeared UPSC exam for four times but failed each time. 

With back-to-back failures, anyone would break down and give up, but Uma is no ordinary woman. Instead of giving up, she learned from her mistakes and worked harder to learn more and more. In her fifth attempt, she came with an impressive All India Rank (AIR)-3.

From failing four times to securing an impressive AIR-3, IAS Uma has proved that there is no shortcut to success and hard work.
