It is the rags-to-riches stories that are very inspiring and motivating. These stories prove that anybody can achieve anything, no matter how many obstacles they have to overcome. Many IAS and IPS officers have gone from rags to riches with their struggle, determination, and consistency.

Today, they might look like they are living fabulous lives, but it wasn’t always that way. Some of them had to work hard to reach their dreams. Today, we like to talk about IAS Surabhi Gautam.

IAS Surabhi’s life journey is so inspiring and worth sharing because she is not only an IAS (AIR 50) officer but also an intelligent and inspiring lady who cleared GATE, BARC, ISRO, SAIL, SSC-CGL and IES (AIR 1).

Hailing from a downtrodden family, her family could not afford English medium for her. So, she studied in a Hindi medium school till 12th Standard. She faced many health problems during her initial days and had to visit a doctor every 15 days.

Her college days were tougher as she faced problems due to her poor English. Despite all the odds, she topped her University exams in 1st semester. She then wrote all the technical exams and cleared them, as she revealed in a TEDX program.

At the age of 20, she was selected for BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center). Interview for BARC is considered one of the toughest interviews to crack. At the age of 21, she got All INDIA RANK 1 in IES (Indian Engineering Services) and joined it at the age of 22.

At the age of 25, she cleared CSE (Civil Service Examinations) with ALL INDIA RANK 50.

She believes in the words “There is no substitute for hard work and there is no shortcut to success”.
