IAS Sarjana Yadav cracked UPSC without any coaching; read to know her inspiring journey

Lakhs of aspirants appear for the prestigious UPSC Civil Services exam every year. Many aspirants spend lakhs of rupees on tuition and private coaching to crack the toughest exam of India.

Coaching centers are making a fortune and slowly becoming unaffordable due to the high fees these days. Not every aspirant can afford the fees of many private coaching centers.

However, there are many aspirants who focus on self-preparation and crack the exam. Let’s know the inspiring story of IAS Sarjana Yadav who cracked UPSC without any coaching.

Hailing from Delhi, Sarjana completed her engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU), as per a report in DNA India. After her graduation, she got a job as a research officer at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

However, it was her dream to become an IAS officer and she was determined to crack the UPSC exam. Thus, she began her journey to become an IAS officer. Surprisingly, Sarjana decided to continue with her full-time job and prepare by herself instead of joining a coaching center.

It was certainly not an easy journey for her. She had to be left disappointed two times until her hard work paid off on her third attempt. Despite repeated failures two times, she did not give up and put in extra effort into her job.
She finally made it in 2019 and secured an All-India Rank (AIR)-126.

“All it needs is the pure dedication and determination of the aspirant to crack the UPSC. Coaching depends on the desire of a candidate whether he/she wants to take coaching or not. If you think that you have complete study material and your strategy for UPSC is better, then you can also get success by relying on self-study,” she was quoted as saying by DNA India.
