UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE) is one of India’s toughest exams and aspirants need years of preparation, dedication and hard work. However, IAS Ananya Singh cracked the exam in just one year of preparation that too without any coaching.

She is among the very few IAS officers who cracked the toughest exam at the age of 22.

A native of Prayagraj, she was always a bright student and topped both Class 10 and Class 12, DNA India reported. After completing her early education at Prayagraj’s St. Mary’s Convent School, she secured 96% in Class 10 and 98.25 percent in Class 12.

In both Class 10 and 12, she was the CISCE Board District Topper. Later, she went on to pursue her graduation in Economics Honours from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi University.

She knew that civil services were her call since childhood. Thus, she started her UPSC preparation, soon after her graduation. She gave up everything and focused on self-study. Her preparation strategy included writing answers, and read newspapers every day for current affairs.]

She made it a habit to revise again and again and clear all the fundamentals. A habitual reader, she studied 8-10 hours every day without fail. She focused on previous year questions and compared the answers of toppers.

All her hard work paid off and she fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer at the young age of 22. She secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR)-51 in UPSC CSE 2019 and has proved that going to expensive coaching centres does not guarantee civil services.
