Has the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2022 been postponed by around six to eight weeks? A news claiming the postponement of the postgraduate medical entrance exam, which is in circulation, has been busted.

The fact check agency of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a warning against the fake notice circulating on social media that claims the NEET-PG 2022 has been deferred.

No such official notice related to postponement of the entrance exam has been issued by the authorities concerned, informed PIB on its PIB Fact Check official Twitter handle.

“A #Fake letter claiming that the NEET-PG examination due to take place on 21/05/2022 has been postponed by 6-8 weeks, is in circulation on social media,” PIB Fact Check tweeted.

It further confirmed, “No such letter has been issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.”

The NEET PG 2022 entrance exam is scheduled to be held on May 21, from 9 am to 12 pm. The exam was earlier scheduled for March 12, but it was later postponed. Meanwhile, the NEET PG admit cards are likely to be released on May 16.

Earlier this month, the Union Health Ministry had announced its decision to reduce the cut off for the NEET PG 2021 by 15 percentile across all categories.

As per the revised cut-off, the qualifying percentile for the general category of students will be reduced to 35 percentile, PH (General) candidates to 30 percentile and for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) to 25 percentile.
