He was earning well in a reputed consulting company after completing his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. However, his call was the Civil Services Exam (CSE).

Without a second thought, he left his high-paying job to start his UPSC journey and secured AIR-4 with his hard work and dedication. Well, we are talking about the inspiring journey of IAS officer Shreyans Kumat.

Hailing from Rajasthan’s Kishangarh in Ajmer, Shreyans spent two years in Kota for the JEE preparation after completing his 11th standard. He passed the JEE exam and was accepted to the esteemed IIT Bombay to pursue a degree in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.

After passing out from IIT, he got a well-paying job at Ernst & Young (EY) consulting company and was living the time of his life. He always wanted to become an engineer and his dream had come true, a DNA India report stated.

However, his grandfather always inspired him to become an IAS officer and do something for society. After working at EY for two years, Shreyans understood his grandfather’s wish for him. That realization led him to leave his position and start his UPSC CSE preparations.

He focused on both offline lessons and online coursework. He studied hard for 10 hours a day and did extensive research on the exam format. With his hard work and determination, he cleared the UPSC, India’s toughest exam, in his very first attempt with AIR-4.
