In a major relief for Plus 2 students who could not apply for the free laptop scheme under the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, the Odisha higher education department has extended again the deadline for submission of online application.
Taking to Twitter, the Higher Education department announced that meritorious Plus 2 students now can apply for the direct benefit transfer (DBT) for laptops under the scheme till June 20.
“ବିଜୁ ଯୁବ ସଶକ୍ତିକରଣ ଯୋଜନା, ୨୦୨୧” ଅଧୀନରେ ଲାପଟପ କିଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆର୍ଥିକ ସହାୟତା ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଆବେଦନର ଅବଧିକୁ ତା୨୦.୦୬.୨୦୨୨ରିଖକୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରାଯାଇଅଛି। ଏପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆବେଦନ କରି ପାରିନଥିବା ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀମାନେ ଏହି ସମୟ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆବେଦନ କରିବାକୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ।

The higher education department has requested all eligible students who have not yet applied to submit their applications at the earliest.
The online application for the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana was first opened on March 29, 2022. Previously, the deadline was extended till May 10.
Only 15,000 eligible students, whose names appeared in the list of meritorious students published by the department, can apply for the scheme to receive Direct Benefit Transfer of Rs 30, 000 in lieu of laptop.
The financial assistance of Rs 30,000 will be paid via Direct Benefit Transfer through Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. Students need not submit his/her bank accounts to receive the money.
Recently, a media report stated that around 300 students have not applied for the free laptop scheme, prompting the government to ask schools to create awareness on the scheme.
Procedure to apply:
Eligible students can apply for the scheme by visiting the official scholarship portal of the Odisha government, i.e (https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in).
