In a bid to provide students a platform to showcase their knowledge about sports and fitness, ‘Fit India Quiz’ competition will be held across the country. It will be the first-ever fitness and sports quiz to be telecast on various sports channels.
In a letter to all states, the Department of School Education & Literacy (Ministry of Education) has stated that the registrations for the Fit India Quiz will start from September.
A detailed guideline has been issued through a circular to all states. The first national-level quiz for students will give away cash award of Rs 3.25 crore to schools and students.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Fit India Movement in August 2019 to popularise fitness as a way of life among citizens.
“The objective of the quiz is to provide a national platform for students to showcase their knowledge about fitness and sports and create awareness among them about India’s rich sporting history, including centuries old sports, our centuries old indigenous sports, national and regional sports heroes of the past and how traditional Indian lifestyle activities hold the key to a fit life for all,” a circular read.
The four rounds of quiz will include:
1. School Round: It will be conducted by the schools to register students for the preliminary rounds.
2. Preliminary Round: To be a multiple choice online round conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
3. State Round: To be conducted by each state/UTs with support from Fit India Mission amongst schools qualified after preliminary round.
4. National Round: Final round in which each winning team of each state/UT will participate and fight for the top title of the national winner of Fit India quiz 2021.
Tentative Timeline for Fit India Quiz
Launch of Fit India Quiz: September 1, 2021
Registrations: September 1 to September 30, 2021
Preliminary NTA Round: October 29, 2021
State Round: December 1- December 31, 2021
National Round: January-February 2022
