The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Friday directed universities, institutions deemed to be universities and colleges to take steps to fill up vacancies of faculty at the earliest.
"AII the universities, institutions deemed to be universities and colleges are once again requested to ensure the implementation of UGC guidelines for recruitment of faculty in letter and spirit and take steps to fill up the vacancies at the earliest," the letter undersigned by Rajnish Jain stated.
"You will appreciate that faculty members are the pillars of all academic processes and have the crucial responsibility to develop programme-specific curriculum, effective implementation of teaching-learning and evaluation process," Jain wrote to Vice-Chancellors of all universities and principals of colleges and institutes.
"They are the one who creates conducive learning environment in the institution and develops students as responsible members of society," Jain added.

"You are, therefore, once again requested to take appropriate steps for faculty recruitment at the earliest in your university as well as in the affiliated colleges," he added.
All the universities and their affiliated colleges have also been requested to ensure that the details of all the vacant teaching posts, along with the reservations and advertisement details are uploaded on the University Activity Monitoring Portal of UGC at https: //www.ugc.ac.in/uamp/ on or before December 3, 2021.
