Her father always wanted her to see as an IAS officer. To fulfill her father’s dream, she quit her dream doctor job and began her UPSC journey. Here’s a look into her inspiring journey from being a doctor to an IAS officer.

Journey of Doctor Saloni Sidana to Become IAS Officer

Hailing from Jalalabad in Punjab, becoming an IAS officer was never a dream for Saloni. All throughout her childhood, all she wanted was to become a doctor and serve the people. After cracking NEET, Saloni pursued her MBBS from Delhi’s Lady Hardinge Medical College, India Today reported.

It was her dream to move abroad for higher studies. However, upon her father’s suggestion she opted to stay in India and consider the UPSC exam. The brilliant mind cracked the UPSC CSE 2014 without any coaching with an impressive AIR-74.

Preparation Strategy of IAS Saloni Sidana

Speaking about her preparation strategy, Saloni said, “Avoid following a generic study method. Discover what works best for you, whether it is group study or solo sessions.”

She further advised aspirants to treat UPSC journey as a marathon and not a sprint.

“Stay consistent throughout the year and dedicate 6-8 hours daily without breaks. Avoid studying excessively one day and resting the next, maintaining a steady routine for effective learning,” she added.

As per India Today, she further advised aspirants to be genuine and avoid scripted responses and focus on understanding errors to improve rather than merely attempting more mocks.
