The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper 1 and 2 examination scheduled to be held today has been postponed.

Though the examination in the first shift on December 16 was conducted successfully across the country, the scheduled second shift (Paper 2) examination could not be completed due to unexpected technical glitches.

In a notice, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stated that the next dates of examinations for these candidates will be notified in consultation with M/s TCS Ltd. TCS iON has been entrusted by the CBSE to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

The CTET is scheduled to be held from December 16, 2021 to January 13, 2022. In a statement issued on Wednesday, TCS iON said, “On day one of the examination, unexpected technical issues impacted operations in certain venues, in the first shift. As a result, candidates in affected venues could not complete the exam. Consequently, we had to cancel the second shift examination.”

In view of this, CBSE issued a notice stating, “The examinations of shift 2 (Paper 2) of December 16, 2021 and both the shifts of Paper 1 & 2 scheduled to be held on December 17, 2021 have been postponed. The next dates of examinations for these candidates will be notified in consultation with M/s TCS Ltd. Inconvenience caused to the candidates is sincerely regretted.”

The CBSE further stated that the examination shifts starting from Monday (December 20, 2021) will be conducted as per schedule. “The candidates are informed to appear in the examination at the respective centres accordingly,” the CBSE statement read.
