The Odisha government on Saturday announced a deadline for the completion of class promotion and admission process in schools.

As per the latest notification issued by the School and Mass Education department, the class promotion process for the students from Class 1 to 8 has been targeted to be completed by April 20.

Similarly, the process for admission and re-admission for Class 1 to 9 students will be completed by April 30. The process will start from April 20, the notification read.

In another decision, the class 9 students will have to appear the Summative Assessment –II examination as per the new assessment policy introduced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

The conduct of the Summative Assessment and publication of results for students of Class-9 and promotion to Class-10 will be completed by May 10, 2022.

In a bid to compensation for the loss of academics due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Learning Recovery Plan (LRP) as envisaged by Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), will be implemented with the existing teachers during morning classes.

Accordingly, the summer vacations for all government and private educational institutions of the state will begin on June 6 till June 16, 2022. The timings for morning classes has also been revised. The morning classes in Odisha schools will be conducted from 6 am to 9 am.
