In a bid to combat cheating during the upcoming Plus II exam, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has announced the implementation of new measures.

The new initiative is aimed at combating malpractice in examinations. As per reports, district-level squads, a specially designated team for overseeing examination conduct, will be deployed across every district. These teams will closely monitor exam proceedings, ensuring academic integrity is upheld.

The Council stated that larger districts will have two squads, ensuring adequate coverage while smaller districts will have one team. These teams will be specially trained and tasked with the responsibility of preventing any malpractice during the examination.

With this initiative, the Council is determined to ensure fair examination practices across all districts, reinforcing the integrity of educational assessments, informed Dr. Prasant Parida, Examination Controller, CHSE.

“It was impossible for our squad members to reach every corner of Odisha. Last financial year, we had formed district-wise groups on a trial basis. They were deployed in various districts and it turned out to be successful. So, we have decided to deploy squads in all the districts this time. Big districts will have two squads while there will be one squad in small districts,” Parida added.

“They will be provided with all the TA, DA and other benefits from the government,” he added.

Expenses for forming and managing these squads will be entirely covered by the CHSE. A key directive of this initiative is to prevent any individual associated with students from being involved in examination processes, thereby adhering strictly to established regulations.

In the past, a state-level squad struggled to effectively reach all districts. However, district-specific squads introduced last year successfully curtailed cheating in Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur, prompting this wider rollout.

Worth mentioning, CHSE exams in Odisha will commence on February 18, 2025 and continue till March 27, 2025.
