A lot of students were left in a quandary after coming across information on social media that claimed that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be preparing the question papers for Class 9 and 11 students.

The message has reportedly gone viral on various social media platforms including WhatsApp. The viral message claimed that the CBSE will conduct the Class 9 and 11 examinations across the country with a single question paper. The question paper will be prepared by the Board itself.

Meanwhile, the CBSE has refuted of having any such plans.

"It has come to the notice that CBSE will provide Classes IX and XI Question Papers for conduct of examinations in all its schools. In this regard, it is clarified that it is fake news and there is no such plan on the agenda of the CBSE," CBSE said in a latest circular.

The Board also stated that, "It is reiterated that you do not believe in any such information which is circulating on social media and not available on the Board's website. Board issues all information on its website first. Hence, information available only on Boards website is authenticated. "

The government of India’s fact checking agency, PIB fact check has also clarified that, “CBSE has made no such announcement.” Moreover the claim made in the viral message is ‘Fake’ and people should refrain from forwarding such false messages, tweeted PIB fact check on Thursday.
