Ahead of the conduct of the Term 1 examinations for Class 10 and 12 students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important circular to share details and other process for change of examination city/ country.

As per the circular, the facility for change of examination city/country will be available for the students who are residing in some other city/country and not in the city/country where they are studying because of Covid-19 situation.

The students have been advised to inform the school through e-mail or as communicated by the school about the change of examination city by November 10, 2021 (midnight). The concerned schools will make a list of requests received and upload on CBSE website latest by November 12, 2021 (midnight).

The students can request for change of examination city/country for;

1. Theory examinations

2. Theory and practical examinations

3. Change of examination city/country for practical examination

In the circular, the CBSE has asked students to mention the city (state)/country from where they would prefer to appear in the theory/ practical examinations.

The students will have the option to opt for one city as a centre of examination for both theory and practical. Two separate centres, one for theory and one for practical, will not be allowed.

“In case the student opts for change of centre of theory examination only, he/she will have to compulsorily appear in the practical examination from the school of her/his regular studies,” the CBSE circular read.

The CBSE has categorically instructed schools to ensure that students will submit their requests for change in examination city/country carefully as no change will be allowed once the request is submitted by the concerned school.

Subsequently, the CBSE will allot the examination centre in the same city or a neighbouring city based on the requests and the decision of the Board will be final.

“During the conduct of practical examination, marks will be uploaded as per instructions by the school from where the student has appeared in the practical examination. The schools will be able to download the admit cards with changed centre of examination from school log-in account,” the circular added.
