A day after several students and parents claimed that there were some 'confusing' questions in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 English exam, the Board has responded to the allegations stating that said they were correct.

On Saturday, some students and parents took to social media to raise the issue. According to a student who did not wish to be identified, said the questions number 13 and 14 only had options for answers but no question.

“When I enquired from the invigilator about the error we were asked to ignore the questions,” PTI quoted him as saying. Besides, some shared images of the question paper highlighting the part which, according to them, was 'confusing'.

“It may be noted that both the questions are correct and there is no ambiguity. The passage starts with the following statement- 'Read the passage given below and answer the questions/complete the statements that follow by choosing the most appropriate option out of the given ones. Questions are to be replied as per the instructions given and not in isolation," the board said in a statement.

Recently, CBSE decided to extend the eligibility condition for private candidates who will be appearing for the compartment exams along with Term 2 Board examinations.

In a latest notice, it stated that the candidates who appeared in Main 2020 under full subject category and were placed in the compartment and who could not clear their compartment examination in subsequent chances, will also be eligible to register and appear as private candidates in the compartment examinations being conducted with Term-2 examinations 2022 for both classes 10 and 12.
