The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon declare the results for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the year 2025.

The announcement will bring an end to weeks of anticipation for lakhs of students across India who appeared for the examinations held earlier this year.

Once announced, the results will be available on multiple official and partner platforms, and students can access their digital marksheets through CBSE’s websites, DigiLocker, the UMANG app, and via SMS services.

How to Check CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Results 2025

Students can follow these steps to view their results online:

  • Visit any of the official websites: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.
  • Click on the respective link for 'CBSE Class 10 Result 2025' or 'CBSE Class 12 Result 2025'.
  • Enter your roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth as required.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ to view your scorecard.

Apart from the websites, students can also check their results through the DigiLocker platform (cbse.digitallocker.gov.in) and the UMANG app by registering with their mobile numbers linked to Aadhaar. Additionally, results can be obtained via SMS by sending a specific format to the designated CBSE number.

How to Calculate CBSE Class 10 and 12 Percentage

Although CBSE does not officially release percentages for Class 10 students and follows a grading system instead, students can calculate their approximate percentage using the following method:

  • Add the grade points received in the five main subjects.
  • Divide the total by 5 to obtain the CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).
  • Multiply the CGPA by 9.5 to get the estimated percentage.

For Class 12, the percentage is mentioned directly on the marksheet. However, to manually verify:

  • Add the total marks obtained in the top five subjects.
  • Divide the total by 5 to get the average score.
  • This average is the percentage secured.

Understanding the CBSE Grading System

The CBSE Class 10 grading system is based on a scale of 9 grades. Here is how grades are allotted:

  • A1 (91-100 marks): Grade Point 10
  • A2 (81-90 marks): Grade Point 9
  • B1 (71-80 marks): Grade Point 8
  • B2 (61-70 marks): Grade Point 7
  • C1 (51-60 marks): Grade Point 6
  • C2 (41-50 marks): Grade Point 5
  • D (33-40 marks): Grade Point 4
  • E1 (21-32 marks): Fail
  • E2 (00-20 marks): Fail

Grades are awarded subject-wise and reflect a student's relative performance in comparison to peers.

What Comes Next for Students

Students who have failed to secure passing marks in one or more subjects will be eligible to appear for the CBSE supplementary exams. Details for these exams, including the application process and schedule, will be made available on the official CBSE website shortly.

In case of discrepancies or grievances related to the results, students are advised to approach their respective schools or contact the regional CBSE offices. Facilities for result revaluation and rechecking are expected to open within a few days of result declaration.

The CBSE Class 10 exams for 2025 were conducted between 15 February and 1 March, while the Class 12 examinations were held from 15 February to 4 April. Over 44 lakh students from across India and abroad appeared for the exams this year.

For the latest updates and announcements, students should keep checking the official CBSE websites and remain in touch with their school administration.
