CBSE Board results expected soon, mid-May declaration likely

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

CBSE is set to declare Class 10 and 12 board exam results by mid-May. No national toppers list will be released, easing student pressure. Results can be checked via official portals, SMS, DigiLocker, and UMANG app.

CBSE Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to release the Class 10 and 12 board examination results shortly, with indications pointing to a mid-May declaration. Students and parents across India are awaiting the results, which mark a significant academic milestone each year.

No Toppers List to Be Released Again This Year

Continuing with its policy from recent years, CBSE will not publish a list of national toppers. The decision is aimed at reducing pressure on students and discouraging unhealthy competition. By not highlighting individual top scorers, the board seeks to promote a more inclusive and balanced recognition of student performance.

Checking Results Online

Once the results are declared, students can access their marks through the official CBSE portals. The steps are as follows:

  • Visit cbseresults.nic.in or cbse.gov.in

  • Click on the link for either Class 10 or Class 12 results

  • Enter roll number, school number, and admit card ID as required

  • Click 'Submit' to view the result

  • Download and save a copy for future reference

Multiple Access Points for Convenience

Apart from the websites, results will also be available via SMS, the DigiLocker platform, and the UMANG app. Students are advised to check only official sources and keep their examination credentials at hand to avoid last-minute difficulties.

Change in Post-Result Application Process

CBSE has also introduced a change in the post-result process for the 2025 board examinations. Earlier, students had to apply for verification of marks first, followed by obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer books, and then re-evaluation.

From this year, the sequence has been revised. Now, students will first obtain photocopies of their evaluated answer books. After viewing them, they can decide whether to apply for verification of marks (for re-checking or missed evaluation), re-evaluation of specific questions, or both.

Purpose of Implementing the System

CBSE stated that this new system will help students better understand the evaluation and make informed decisions. Detailed instructions for the process will be issued after the declaration of results.

With over 39 lakh students having appeared for the board examinations this year, CBSE’s announcement remains one of the most anticipated events in the academic calendar.
