CBSE
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the date sheet for the 2025 Class 10 and 12 exams. The exams will begin on February 15 and end on April 4. While the Class 10 exams will conclude by March 18, the Class 12 exams will continue until April 4. Practical exams, internal assessments, and project work for both classes began on January 1.
The CBSE is anticipated to release the admit card in the first week of February. Students are urged to carefully review the details on the admit card to ensure all the information is correct.
Reduction in Long and Short Answer Questions:
CBSE has made changes to the exam format by reducing the number of short-answer and long-answer questions. This adjustment aims to better assess students' understanding of concepts rather than their ability to memorize facts.
Focus on Competency-Based Questions:
For the 2025 exams, CBSE is placing a greater emphasis on competency-based questions. These questions will test how well students can apply their knowledge to real-life situations, and they will form a significant part of the Class 12 exams. Students will need to be prepared to demonstrate both theoretical understanding and practical application.
Increased Weightage for Internal Assessments:
The weightage for internal assessments has been raised to 40% of the total marks for both Class 10 and Class 12 exams. This means that students will be evaluated throughout the year based on projects, assignments, and tests. The remaining 60% will be based on the final board exams.
75% Attendance Requirement:
To be eligible for the 2025 CBSE board exams, students must have a minimum of 75% attendance during the academic year. Failure to meet this attendance requirement will result in ineligibility to sit for the exams.
Provisions for Olympiad Participants and Athletes:
CBSE has introduced special provisions for students who are involved in national or international sports events or Olympiads. If a student's exam schedule conflicts with such events, they will be allowed to take the exams at a later date, ensuring that they do not have to choose between their academic and extracurricular commitments.
Enhanced Security Measures:
CBSE will implement stricter security measures for the 2025 exams, including biometric authentication, digital fingerprinting, photo capturing, and face matching for all candidates. These measures are designed to prevent cheating and impersonation, ensuring a fair exam environment.
New Sub-Regional Office in Agartala:
To improve educational infrastructure in the region, CBSE is opening a new sub-regional office in Agartala. This office will support both students and teachers, contributing to better learning outcomes across the state.
With the 2025 CBSE board exams nearing, students need to familiarize themselves with the updated exam structure, which includes a greater focus on competency-based questions, a heavier weight on internal assessments, and a new attendance requirement.
Furthermore, the introduction of special provisions for Olympiad participants and athletes, combined with stricter security protocols, will help ensure a fair and organised exam experience for all candidates.
