The much-awaited 10th and 12th exams of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start today with nearly 39 lakh students appearing for the exam in India. Out of the 39 lakh, around 60,000 students will appear for the exam in Odisha.

The exams will be conducted in only one sitting every day – from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. While the 10th board exams will continue till March 13, the 12th exams of the CBSE will conclude on April 2. The CBSE has directed the students to reach their respective exam centers by 10 am.

The board has introduced multiple changes — be it the marking scheme or the announcement of results. The Union Education Minister has earlier announced two board exams, however, there are no official updates on whether this will be implemented for the next academic session, that is, 2024-25 or later.

However, there are some changes that will be applicable from this session onwards. The CBSE has decided to discontinue the use of answer books wherein tables were provided on the subject of the Class 12 Accountancy paper.

After receiving multiple requests, CBSE has decided that for students who are participating in national or international sports events or international olympiads and might not appear for their CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams (February-April), the board will conduct special exams later.
