Bhubaneswar girl Svetlana Mahapatra has made the city proud by bagging the prestigious fellowship of the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA), London. A multi-talented and brilliant mind since childhood, Svetlana is a researcher, model, and social media influencer. Besides, she is a technology consultant for a multinational company. 

In recognition of her multifaceted expertise and exceptional achievements in advancing social progress and development, the 28-year-old girl from the Temple City has been awarded the prestigious fellowship in London.

With her achievements, she joins an elite community of 30,000 innovators, artists, writers, journalists, leading activists and former politicians honoured by the RSA since 1754, The Times Of India reported.

An exceptional talent since her school days, Svetlana holds an MBA from XIMB and a B.Tech degree from IIIT-Bhubaneswar. She is among the very few Odia people who have been recognized as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

Svetlana has also authored a research paper on ‘Detection Procedures for Digital Mammograms’. The work used advanced imaging techniques to offer tech-based alternatives for detecting breast cancer and other anomalies and has been cited over 200 times by professors from leading global universities, the TOI report added.

With her exceptional potential and significant achievements, Svetlana has made a mark as a model on both print and runway; and, has also demonstrated her talent at prestigious events such as the IIFA Fashion Awards (2023) and International Fashion Week (2022) among others.

Speaking to TOI, Svetlana said, “It is a great honour to join the RSA, a community that has historically been at the forefront of significant societal advancement.”
