The popular UPSC coaching centre Drishti IAS has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. #BanDrishtiIAS has been trending on Twitter since Friday morning after a video of an alleged absurd remark on Lord Ram and Sita went viral on social media platforms.

Twitteratis expressed outrage and demanded a ban on the prestigious coaching institute.

In the video, UPSC coach Vikas Divyakirti can be heard giving an explanation on Lord Ram and Sita. After hearing his remarks, a few students can also be heard laughing in the background.

This has not gone well with many Twitteratis who took offence and accused Vikas of hurting the sentiments of Hindus. They are now trending #BanDrishtiIAS on Twitter. In just a few hours, there have been thousands of #BanDrishtiIAS tweets.

A user shared coach Vikas’ video and wrote, “I am so happy to see this trend. Hindus are getting aware every day. Don’t send ur kids to this ‘Raavana’ who brainwash ur kids, against their own dharma.”

Another wrote, “An UPSC coach Vikas Divyakirti was making rounds of sm for absurd explanation of subject of Hinduism. Same coach was found literally campaigning for AAP in class, in fact his videos shared by many AAP official handlers. #BanDrishtiIAS”

Similarly, another user wrote, “Coaching centres discussing sensitive religious texts with negative comments despite strong observation by recent Higher Courts. This must be investigated with FIR.”

However, a few people came out in support of coach Vikas and said that he was just quoting a hindi novel.

A user wrote, "Whatever, he said is already mentioned in Baba Ambedkar's literature. Irony is that kangis are trending #BanDrishtiIAS to fool Hindus that we are in authority but you should raise your voice."
