The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has announced eligibility criteria for admissions in various B.Tech and BE courses through lateral entry to second year.

The students, who wish to seek lateral entry to the B.Tech and BE, need to comply with the eligibility criteria.

As per the latest AICTE notice, a candidate should have passed minimum 3-years / 2-years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45 percent marks (40%o marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST) in any branch of Engineering and Technology.

The candidate should have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45 per cent marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST) and passed l0+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

The other criteria include-

-Completed Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject.

-A minimum of 3-years or 2 years (Lateral Entry) Diploma Examination.

-At least 45% marks in any branch of Engineering and Technology in the Diploma exam.

-At least 40% marks in diploma exam (for reserved category candidates).

OR

B.Sc Degree with at least 45% marks from UGC-approved university or college.

-For reserved category candidates, at least 40% marks in B.Sc is required.

OR

Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector. (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired-learning outcomes of the programme).
