The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has issued an important notification regarding the preparation of question papers.

In a letter to all the vice-chancellors of Technical Universities, Directorate of Technical Education of all States/ UTs and Directors/ Principals of approved institutions, the AICTE has urged them to prepare bilingual question papers.

In its letter, the AICTE has categorically stated that necessary steps should be taken for preparing question papers bilingually out of which one may be a local language.

According to AICTE, the aim is to promote technical education in Indian languages. Moreover, it has also approved extra seats to offer UG/ Diploma engineering courses in Indian languages.

“In order to give opportunity to students for expressing their subject knowledge effectively in solving the question paper and to facilitate the conduct of examination, it is desirable that question papers may be prepared bilingually and one language must be local language,” AICTE letter read.
