The much-awaited second Special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2022 commenced on Saturday.

The examination is being conducted at five centres in Bhubaneswar. The candidates are appearing for MBA in the first and second sitting. 

The first shift began at 9 am and will continue till 10 am while the second shift is scheduled from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. In next two shifts, candidates will write for LE-Tech (Diploma). 

As the first sitting was at 9 am, candidates reached their respective centres much before and were allowed into the examination centres. Some candidates from Kandhamal district arrived late at the examination centre and were initially not allowed into the centre. However, the authorities later considered their request and allowed them to take the entrance. 

Candidates were checked thoroughly before entering the examination centre. Cell phones, calculators, wrist watches and other electronic gadgets were not allowed into the centre. 

The examination is being conducted in 38 places of 28 cities. The examination centres have also been set up in Ranchi, Patna and West Bengal. The next examinations will be conducted on September 4 and September 7. 

Candidates will appear for B.Tech in all three shifts tomorrow. Similarly, B.Pharma will be held in the first shift on September 7, B.Pharma, M.Tech (All subjects), M.Arch, M.Pharma, LE-Tech (B.Sc) will be second shift and MCA in the third shift. 

This year, as many as 28,600 candidates have applied for the examinations.
