Cuttack: In what could be a positive sign in the battle against COVID19, only 51 new positive cases were reported in Cuttack city on Monday, the lowest daily new infections recorded since the last two months.

The latest data released by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) revealed that out of the 134 new COVID19 positive cases reported in Cuttack district, 51 were from Cuttack city.

The city also reported 128 recoveries while no deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, said the civic body in a tweet.

Of the fresh cases, 29 were identified as local contact cases while the remaining seven were quarantine cases.
Earlier in the day, 2546 fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in Odisha. This is the State’s lowest number of fresh infections in over last one and a half month. New Corona cases stood at 2239 on August 17, the lowest as compared to the latest figures of fresh cases released by the State I&PR Department.

The total Covid-19 cases in the State have now risen to 252239 which include 26891 active cases and 224273 recoveries while the death toll touched 1022.
