PSUs of the Petroleum Ministry are setting up captive PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen generation plants to boost emergency care for Covid19 patients in 7 districts of Odisha, informed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday.

These districts include Bargarh, Khordha, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundergarh.

Taking to Twitter, Pradhan thanked PM Modi and Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for their assurance in setting up PSA plants also at Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada.

“I had sought their intervention for establishing oxygen generation plant in each district of Odisha,” he said.

Mentioning Centre’s intent to generate enough medical oxygen in each district, Pradhan said, “The Government of India is also in the process of setting up PSA oxygen generation plants at Angul, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Malkangiri and Sundargarh through PM Cares Fund to boost availability of medical oxygen and support the government of Odisha in its efforts to contain the pandemic.

“A captive medical oxygen generation plant in every district of Odisha will strengthen Odisha’s fight against Covid19 and also help the state prepare better for emerging health challenges,” Pradhan added.

Meanwhile, DRDO is already setting up PSA plants at Boudh and Cuttack. Similar plants are coming up at Balasore, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Nayagarh and Sonepur with the help of DRDO.
