Bhubaneswar: As Odisha gets on with the unlock process with new rules coming up for the period of June 17 - 30, the General Administration department on Thursday directed all the State government offices to work with 50% staff strength till June 30.

However, those employees who have been fully vaccinated will have to attend office mandatorily, informed the department.

In an order issued in this connection, the department said, "All Departments of the State Government and sub-ordinate offices in the State shall function with 50% strength of employees (officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary and above who shall attend Office daily) during 17th to 30th June, 2021."

"Employees who have been fully vaccinated shall attend office mandatorily. Departments/ Heads of offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack shall be at liberty to decide the manner of selection of employees, who are not fully vaccinated, who will attend office on roster basis." stated the order.

Barring essential services from the restrictions, the department said, "However, the essential offices/ services such as SRC and OSDMA offices, Police, Fire Services, Health Services, Municipal services etc. shall function in full strength."

"It may be ensured that the Officers / staff who are not assigned duty on roster, should work from home with VPN provided to them for attending the regular and pending works. They must be available on telephone at all times to attend to any office work of urgent nature, at short notice. The employees with disability & pregnant women employees may be exempted from attending office and work from home. Administrative Departments will decide about the scale of operations in Sub-ordinate and field offices," the order added.
