Odisha continued to witness further dip in the daily Covid-19 cases with the state reporting 2603 new cases in the past 24 hours. Information and Public Relations department said that of the 2603 new cases, 349 cases of infection were among the 0 to 18 years category.

Khordha district accounted for the highest 444 Covid-19 cases, followed by Cuttack (205), Sundergarh (204) and Jajpur (133). With 2603 new cases of Covid-19 infections, the cumulative positive tally in Odisha reached 12,64,705 on Saturday. The Covid-19 active case tally in the State now stands at 26,965.

Apart from the new cases, Odisha also reported 22 more deaths due to Covid-19. The Covid-19 death toll in the State has increased to 8711.

As per Health and Family Welfare Department, seven Covid-19 deaths were reported from Khordha district including four from Bhubaneswar.  Three Covid-19 deaths each have been reported from Cuttack and Sundergarh districts, respectively. Two Covid-19 deaths were reported from Keonjhar while one each death has been reported from Balasore, Boudh, Nayagarh, Sonepur and Nabarangpur district.

“This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19,” tweeted Health department.
