The number of daily Covid-19 cases doubled in Odisha with the detection of 31 new infections in the last 24 hours. Only 15 new cases were detected in the State yesterday.

As per the data shared by the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) department, of the total new cases, two are in the age group of 0-18 years. 

While 18 cases have been categorised as quarantine, 13 are local contacts. The bulk of cases was detected from Cuttack where 16 persons have tested positive for the virus.

Khordha district stood second in the list with 10 new cases. Jharsuguda and Puri reported one case each while three infections belonged to the state pool. 

No death due to the virus has been reported in the State.

With the fresh infections, the active cases of Covid climbed to 127 in the State. The State has registered nine recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 12,88,576 confirmed cases have been detected in Odisha. While 9,126 people succumbed to the disease, the recoveries stand at 12,79,270.
