  • Odisha reports 10,757 new Covid-19 cases in the lasr 24 hours

  • 22 persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,335

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Monday reported 10,757 new Covid-19 cases taking the positive tally to 6,22,981 in the State, informed the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department.

Besides, as many as 22 persons succumbed to the virus in the State while undergoing treatment in the last 24 hours. With this, the death toll in the State jumped to 2,335 on Monday, added the H&FW department.

Of the new cases reported from 30 districts, 6,024 were from various quarantine centres while the remaining 4,733 were detected during contact tracing.

According to the data shared by the Information and Public Relation (I&PR) department, Cuttack reported maximum 973 cases followed by Khordha (909), Sundargarh (832), Angul (606), Bolangir (505) and Nuapada (502). Kandhamal reported the lowest infection of 87.

Four districts in the State recorded above 400 cases – Sambalpur (494), Mayurbhanj (454), Bhadrak (443) and Bargarh (404).

At present, Odisha has 1,06,061 active cases, while 5,14,532 patients have recovered from the disease, the H&FW Department said, adding that, as many as 1,09,41,192 samples were tested in the State so far.
