Covid-19 cases continue to register an upward trend with 512 new positive cases being detected in several parts of Odisha in the past 24 hours.

Of the total 512 fresh cases, 49 cases were detected in the age group of 0-18 years. Similarly, 300 cases were detected from several quarantine centres while 212 are local contact cases, tweeted the State government’s I & PR Department.

Khordha district reported the highest 237 Covid-19 positive cases, followed by Cuttack (89) and Sundargarh (29). With 512 fresh cases, the active Covid-19 tally in Odisha has now reached 2795.

Both Khordha and Cuttack districts account for maximum Covid-19 active cases. At least 27 students of UN College of Science and Technology at Adaspur in Cuttack district tested Covid-19 positive on Thursday.

The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had recently issued advisories making masks mandatory in public places to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.

 the State health authorities have began to scale up testing and reactivate infrastructures to stem the spread of the virus.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had recently announced that Covid test facility has been made available for people in 25 urban primary health centres (UPHCs) and urban community health centres (UCHCs) in the city.
