The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has sealed three court premises in Cuttack on Friday marking them as containment zones following detection of multiple Covid positive cases.

As per reports, the courts of the Cuttack Civil Judge, District & Sessions Judge and Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) have been made micro containment zones in Cuttack.

Worrying figures emerged from the Civil Court where thirty nine Covid positive cases were reported.

Issuing an order to seal the Civil Court Complex, the Commissioner of CMC wrote, “Thirty-nine cases of COVID-19 has been detected at Civil Court Complex, Cuttack which requires detailed measures for active contact tracing. To facilitate this, it is necessary to declare the same Complex as micro containment zone and to restrict public from entering into the same premises.”

The following Officers are declared as the nodal officers to ensure required facilities in respect of the containment zone/sanitation of the zone.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Orissa High Court had announced to shut down its operations for five days till January 17 in view of the surge in cases of COVID among court staff.

The Court had said that during the period from January 18, 2022 to February 4, 2022, it will function with two Division Benches and seven Single Benches to take up only the exceptionally urgent cases.
