After a lull, Covid cases touched double digits in the state. Keeping in view the rising corona cases registered in a week, the State health department has issued a fresh advisory.

State Health Director Bijay Mohapatra has sought to adopt precautionary measures to contain the disease from spreading. 

“The Health Department is carrying out surveillance and testing. It has been asked to accelerate Covid testing. We are advising people with Covid symptoms to go for immediate testing. Besides, people must maintain social distance. People should spontaneously come forward to do the testing”, said Mohapatra.

Mohapatra further said “District Collectors have been asked to conduct door-to-door survey which will start from June 21 and continue till September. Health workers will be engaged to do survey.”

“If you keep a watch on last two weeks’ history, Covid cases are rising. Today the state registered 41 fresh cases. Other States have also registered a spurt in Covid cases and the numbers are more compared to that of Odisha. Keeping it in mind, we have to follow precautionary measures for our wellbeing”, he added.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Public Health has alerted all local administrative authorities, including municipal commissioners, Collectors and CDMOs to enhance precautionary measures.
