Berhampur: People having Covid-19 symptoms will no more have to face problems as the district administration has launched mobile van testing services in the city here and other areas of Ganjam district.

The van carrying all relevant equipments and medical staff will move in every lane, by-lane, residential colonies and villages to provide services at door step.

The decision of mobile testing drive has been taken following rising public demands, Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said. It will help increase testing capacity and early detection of the virus, he added.

“Our mobile van will conduct tests for Covid-19 at door steps. People will not have to rush to the hospital and testing laboratories for Covid test. I appeal to the people to take advantage of the new facility. This will come In handy for the people especially during the current lockdown period,” Collector Kulange said.

 For more information regarding the mobile testing, BeMC help desk is always available to receive any grievances, he said.

Kulange further informed that there are enough facilities at all local primary health centres (PHCs) Community Health Centres (CHCs) and sub-divisional hospitals for Covid patients.

“I appeal to the infected people to avoid rush at MKCG Medical College and Hospital. Adequate beds with oxygen are available at all PHCs, CHCs and sub-divisional hospitals in the district. They should take the benefits of these facilities,” he added.

Similarly, the drive in vaccination programme has also been initiated in the city to avoid gathering at inoculation centre. The new kind of vaccination drive was carried out at Khallikote college ground yesterday.
