A Plus 3 final year student of Rajendra University In Bolangir has tested positive for Covid-19. 

As per reports, the infected student was staying in the University PG hostel with 50 other students. 

The student was reportedly suffering from cough and cold for the last several days. So, on Thursday, he went to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in the district for RT-PCR test, which later came positive.

As the hostel has a common washroom for all the 50 students, the infected student has been sent to his home where he will stay in isolation, informed Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Umaballav Mohapatra.

Meanwhile, the physical classes has been suspended for 2 days in the University and swab samples of the other inmates will be tested today, informed the VC.

On the other hand, as many as 10 students staying in a residential hostel in Balugaon of Khordha district have positive for Covid-19. 

While all the infected are presently in isolation, the hostel has been declared as micro-containment zone till January 19.

Swab samples of 75 students were earlier collected from the inmates of the residential hostel out of which 10 found positive.
