Ahead of the rollout of the booster dose or the precautionary dose of Covid vaccine for all adults tomorrow, an orientation meeting of health secretaries of all States and UTs was held Saturday.

Union Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary chaired the crucial meet on precaution dose for people aged between 18- and 59 at private COVID vaccination centres (CVCs).

As per official sources, no fresh registrations would be required for the precaution dose as all due beneficiaries in the said age group are already registered on CoWIN.

At the meeting, stress was given on the aspect that all vaccinations must mandatorily be recorded on the CoWIN platform. Besides, options of ‘Online appointment’ and ‘Walk-in’ registration and vaccination will be available at Private CVCs.

Highlights:

Private CVCs can charge up to a maximum of Rs150 as service charge for vaccination over and above the cost of vaccine.

HCWs, FLWs and citizens aged 60 year or more shall continue to receive precaution dose vaccination at any CVC, including free of charge vaccination at Government Vaccination Centers.

Eligibility

All above 18 years now eligible for the booster or the precaution dose.

Those who have completed 9 months after the administration of the second dose would be eligible for precaution dose at private vaccination centers.
