  • As per Co-WIN 2.0 Guidance Note, there are eight prescribed Photo ID Cards for venfication of beneficiary prior to vaccination

In the line of the Union Health Ministry’s revised guidelines for Covid vaccination, Odisha government on Wednesday included Ration Card with photograph as another prescribed photo ID card for verification of beneficiary prior to vaccination.

The ACS of State Health Department has asked the collectors of all districts to lay out the instruction to all Programme Officers / Managers, Vaccinators and Verifiers for implementation of the revised guideline in the vaccination programme and also widely publicise to create awareness among the citizens.

As per Co-WIN 2.0 Guidance Note, there are seven prescribed Photo ID Cards for venfication of beneficiary prior to vaccination and recently, Unique Disability identification Card (UDID) card has been included. 

Now, MoHFW has communicated to include Ration Card with photo, an official document issued by State Government under National Food Security Act (NFSA), which have details like Name. Gender, photo & Age (year of birth can be estimated) as prescribed Photo ID proof for verification of beneficiary prior to COVID-19 vaccination.

The government has said that the move would further improve access for BPL /Antodaya category beneficiaries. The Union Ministry of Health would make necessary provision in Co-WIN accordingly.
