After a brief lull, containment zones have returned to Bhubaneswar once again following the resurgence of Covid-19 spread in the city.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday declared a residential apartment, Rajendra Vihar Apartment, in the Forest Park area of the Capital city as ‘containment zone’ following the detection of several Covid-19 positive cases.

As per BMC sources, the positive cases were detected in flat nos A.502A-507.A.512.B-013.13- 017.B-018.13-220.B-222.13-144.13-319 of the apartment. The cases, BMC sources said, were found during contract tracing.

Following the detection of such large number of cases, the civic body, in exercise of the pandemic regulations, declared the apartment as containment zone to check any further spread of the infection, while imposing a string of restrictions.

Here are the restrictions imposed by BMC:

  • No public shall be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone shall not move out.
  • All the inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain in home. All the shopping establishment of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately.

  • BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the inhabitants in the containment zones.
