Bhubaneswar: Steady rise in the number of daily Covid-19 positive cases in the capital city continued unabated with 1048 fresh cases detected from various parts of the city in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the active caseload in the city has now climbed up to 10,060. Out of the new cases, 151 persons are in quarantine while the rest 897 are local contact cases.

The most, 45 cases have been reported from Patia area followed by Nayapalli (44). As many as 33 fresh cases have been detected from Laxmisagar area.

Similarly, Old Town registered 29 cases while Sundarapada and Unit-9 witnessed 27 cases each. Unit-3 registered 25 cases in the last 24 hours. Likewise, Sailashree Vihar witnessed 24 cases. VSS Nagar and Saheed Nagar registered 19 cases each.

Meanwhile, as many as 848 patients have also been declared free from the virus infection on Friday.

So far, 51,496 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in the city out of which 41,136 have recovered, 279 have succumbed. As many as 10,060 Covid-19 patients are under treatment at present.
