Bhubaneswar: The State capital on Monday witnessed a huge reduction in daily COVID cases after 864 new patients were reported in the smart city in the last 24 hours.

As per the information provided by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), while 134 cases were reported from quarantine centres a massive 730 positive cases were identified from local contacts.

On the other hand, 936 patients have also recovered from the dreaded disease in the same time in Bubaneswar.

With 936 recoveries, the total number of recuperated patients from the infection so far has crossed 50,000 mark, reaching 50160.

Similarly, the cumulative case load on Monday hovered at 12021 while 296 patients succumbing to COVID19 so far.

It worthwhile to mention here that a total of 1353 positive cases were detected in the Capital city on Sunday including a large 1135 local contact cases.

Earlier in the day, Odisha reported 10,757 new Covid-19 cases taking the positive tally to 6,22,981 in the State. As many as 22 persons succumbed to the virus in the State while undergoing treatment in the last 24 hours as well.
