Bhubaneswar: Jashobanta Mohapatra (52), eldest son of the late sculptor and Rajya Sabha MP Raghunath Mohapatra, succumbed to Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Thursday.

According to sources, Jashobanta was shifted to SUM Covid Hospital from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on May 19 after his condition deteriorated.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jashobanta’s younger brother and the former Odisha cricket team captain Prashant Mohapatra died of the virus while undergoing treatment at AIIMS.
