Bhubaneswar: As the countdown for the New Year has already started, preparations are in full swing for the Zero Night celebration on the night of December 31 to welcome 2017. City hotels, clubs and pubs have left no stone unturned to provide revelers a chance to enjoy the night amid full of entertainment.

The star hotels in the capital city are on a competitive mood to give best possible mode of entertainment. While some have planned to host foreign DJs with dazzling fancy lights and famous pop songs, some others are inviting Bollywood stars to attract more footfalls.

The hotel and club premises will undoubtedly buzz to the tune of eminent singers and dancers. The Hotel Hindustan international have already contacted Saregamapa fame Sagar Tripathy and Indian Idol fame Niharika Nath. This apart, high profile DJ and danseuses from Kolkata will enthrall the revelers during the last minutes of 2016, a hotel official said. The entry fee has been fixed at Rs 5,000/couple while a single person can enjoy the night with only Rs 3500 including unlimited drinks and foreign and delicious Indian cuisine.

However, the most chic and sophisticated hotel in the City, Mayfair Lagoon has no plan of hoisting any colourful programme this year. Only there may be some changes in the food menu especially for the new year at its various restaurants like Nakali Dhaba and Lemon Grass, Manager Pradipta Mohapatra said. A Decision on any event may be taken a day before the New Year, Mayfair CEO Soubhagya Mohapatra said.

Another star hotel Swosti Premium has made elaborate arrangements for the Zero Night. The revelers are eagerly waiting for the heart touching song of Bollywood singer Kanika Sharma and Dev to the tune of high-octane DJ Roxy. The programme will start at 7.30 pm and continue till midnight, Swosti Manager (F&B) Anil Satpathy said. The hotel authorities have fixed the fee for couples at Rs 5500 while a singleton has to pay Rs 3500 to enjoy the night with unlimited drinks and various delicacies of both veg and non-veg items, he added.

But, Sandy Towers have given a third party to organize a special event titled ‘Frize’, manager Manoranjan Mallick said. Elaborate arrangements have been made here to give the new year revelers fashion show, belly dance rock band and DJ dance. Ollywood stars will also add extra colour to the high profile extravaganza. The audience can witness the performance of Delhi-based DJ Pratyush and rock band of tollywood ‘Group Vighanj’. A couple has to register names with the payment of Rs 2599 while it is 1599 for single. Delicious dinner and adequate snacks with soft drinks and cock tail have been arranged.

Similarly, The Crown has decided to serve various food items only for the foodies while no arrangements have been planned for any programme of dance and song. There is a slight change in the price menu for the New Year special. The lavish buffet includes 14 categories of non-veg and 100 veg items, two types of soups and around five/six categories desserts will be available to feast on at Rs 950, the service will be available before and on the day of New Year, an executive said.

The Presidency has fixed its entry fee for the night event at Rs 2500 including taxes and Rs 2000 for single entry. The dinner here includes five vegetarian and five non-veg items with starters and Biryani.

Apart from the arrangements at hotels, some individual parties have chalked out plans to organize events inviting Bollywood stars. With the celebs performing at open stage, there is a beeline for the entry tickets and the Zero Night in Bhubaneswar is sure to be a star-studded affair.
