SBI
On April 1, 2025, many customers of the State Bank of India (SBI) allegedly faced unexpected difficulties while making digital transactions due to a scheduled system upgrade and financial year-end closing activities.
The disruptions left users frustrated as they struggled with UPI payments, online banking, and card transactions at crucial moments.
Customers' Reactions
Several customers took to social media to report their troubles, with many complaining about being unable to pay for essentials, book tickets, or complete urgent financial transactions.
Some users also pointed out that SBI's systems often face similar issues during peak periods, raising concerns over the bank's digital infrastructure.
SBI's Response
Meanwhile, the SBI has come up with a release stating that its customers may face issues in digital services due to the annual closing activities
"Due to annual closing activities, our digital services will be unavailable to our esteemed customers between 01:00 pm to 04:00 pm (IST) on 01.04.2025. We request you to use UPI Lite and ATM channels for uninterrupted services," the SBI said in a release.
While April 1 is known for pranks and jokes, for SBI customers, the transaction troubles were all too real.
