Malkangiri: The price of petrol has just hit a high ceiling in the Malkangiri district of Odisha. In breaking all its previous records, the petrol price in Kalimela area of the district has touched Rs 100 per litre of the oil.

As per sources, filling stations are reportedly selling petrol at the rate of Rs 100.72 per litre while the price of diesel in the area is Rs 98.29. However, in Malkangiri town, the price of petrol is at Rs 99.73 and for diesel it is Rs 97.40. 

In Bhubaneswar, the petrol costs Rs 94.72 while a litre of diesel is sold at the rate of Rs 92.55.

According to Utkal Petrol Pump Owners' Association, the prices of petrol and disel have shot up by Rs 3.45 and Rs 4.43 respectively in the last two months in the wake of hike in the rate of crude oil in international market.
