Odisha Yatri app: Know how to use it for range of services, safe travel

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently launched ‘Odisha Yatri’, a new ride-booking app developed by the state to offer safe, affordable and convenient transportation options to the people of Odisha. The app was unveiled during the state's National Road Safety Month-2025 celebrations in Bhubaneswar on January 4.

What Does Odisha Yatri Provide?

‘Odisha Yatri’ provides a range of services, including both AC and non-AC mini cabs, sedans, and XL cabs. Riders can select the ride of their preference after entering the ‘pick-up’ and drop locations from the array of options provided.

The government also plans to expand the service to include inter-city rides, rentals, and scheduled services. Additionally, the app features special options such as disability-friendly vehicles, pet-friendly trips, and provisions for extra luggage, making it more inclusive for all users.

Odisha Yatri & Safety:

With multiple cases reported of women facing harassment and being exposed to obscene activities by drivers throughout the country, ‘Odisha Yatri’ app aims to provide a safe environment for them to travel free of their safety concerns. 

To ensure the safety of passengers and enhance the reliability of the app, it collaborates with local police and transport department.

The Odisha Yatri app can be easily downloaded from any online store for free of cost.

How To Use Odisha Yatri App:

• After installation, enable your location permission

• Provide your phone number to receive an OTP to register yourself

• Fill in your personal credentials such as name, gender, whether you are a person with disability

• In the space written ‘where are you going?’ enter the drop location

• Following that you will be asked to confirm your pickup location

• Select your preference for your ride and confirm to book the ride

The Odisha government also aims to empower the state's drivers by utilizing a digital commerce open network with a subscription model and launched ‘Odisha Yatri Driver’ app. This approach removes intermediaries and eliminates commissions, aligning with the government's vision of creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem for both drivers and passengers.

How To Use Odisha Yatri Driver App

• Install the app then sign in with your phone number to receive an OTP

• Select your vehicle type to continue further

• Enter details of your vehicle to register yourself as ‘driver’

• Follow further instructions to use the platform
