In a piece of good news for Innova fanboys, the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid MPV has emerged as a clear winner in the Indian automotive market, outselling both the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder hybrids combined.

As per a Cartoq report, the Toyota Hycross Hybrid has taken the lead in the Q2-2023 sales, reaffirming its position as a preferred choice among buyers.

The Q2-2023 sales figures for the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder were recorded at 3,763 units and 2,251 units respectively. In contrast, the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid soared to an all-time high level of sales, reaching 26,794 units during the same period. This remarkable achievement establishes the Toyota Hycross Hybrid as the clear leader in the hybrid segment, the Cartoq reported.

Apart from its strong hybrid powertrain, the Innova Hycross can also be had with a petrol-only powertrain, sporting a 170PS 2-litre petrol unit paired with a CVT gearbox. Toyota’s decision not to offer a manual gearbox with the Innova Hycross Hybrid was undoubtedly well-founded, given the increasing popularity of automatic transmissions in the market.

Toyota retails the Innova Hycross in a total of ten variants, the ex-showroom prices for which range between Rs 18.82 lakh and Rs 30.26 lakh . It is sold alongside the Innova Crysta and its rivals include the Maruti Invicto and more affordable Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
