The price of petrol and diesel vary depending upon several factors such as the local taxes, Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, etc. The prices of petroleum products have now been aligned to market rates.

Public sector OMCs including like BPCL, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd revise the fuel prices daily in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates. Any changes in fuel prices are implemented from 6 am every day.

On October 2 (Sunday), petrol and diesel are being sold at Rs 103.19 and Rs 94.76 respectively in the capital city of Bhubaneswar, while the rate of fuel is Rs 103.67 for petrol and Rs 95.22for diesel in Cuttack.

The petrol and Diesel price at western Odisha town of Sambalpur has been recorded Rs 103.85 and Rs 95.41 respectively. Similarly petrol is being sold at Rs 103.26 in Puri while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.83.

Petrol is priced at Rs 103.23 in Balasore while diesel is priced at 94.81 in the same town. In Ganjam, petrol is being sold at Rs 104.66 while diesel is being sold at Rs 96.17.

Similarly, petrol rate at the southern most town of Odisha, Malkangiri on Sunday is Rs 108.92 and diesel rate is Rs 100.29
